Fixed-price package for small law firms

Use AI productively. Protect your clients’ trust.

Setting up an AI subscription takes minutes. But letting AI work with client data requires more than technical access.

  • What information may the AI see?
  • What may it do with it?
  • Where is it processed?

We build the foundation for your firm to use AI in a controlled, documented and productive way.

  • Small law firmstypically 3 to 10 people
  • About three weeksto a ready-to-use environment

More than a subscription

An AI subscription does not protect professional secrecy on its own

An AI tool is quickly set up. As soon as it works with confidential client information, further questions arise: Which documents may it see? Which tasks may it take on? Who checks the results? And which risks remain despite technical and contractual safeguards?

A commercial subscription brings important contractual assurances. It does not govern what your firm does with it. We clarify these questions with you and put the agreed rules into practice, technically and organisationally.

What a subscription alone does not decide

  • Which confidential information may be processed
  • Which documents the AI can access
  • Whether sensitive matters are excluded altogether
  • How staff are instructed
  • How the professional review of results is organised
  • How responsibility and residual risks are documented

What actually changes for your firm

Unclear access to client dataDefined and tested permissions

Not every firm starts here. Where rules and access controls already exist, less is needed. We clarify this in the introductory call.

Scope

A working AI environment. Clear rules. Less routine work.

01Security

Controlled AI environment

Claude Team under commercial terms, with no model training on client data, built on your existing Microsoft 365 environment.

  • The AI gets its own Microsoft account and sees only the libraries you approve
  • Email, calendar and sending remain blocked
  • Permitted and blocked access is tested
  • Separated by matter where needed
02Compliance

Documented governance

A compliance dossier for review and approval by the firm. The legal assessment remains with you.

  • Professional secrecy (Art. 321 Swiss Criminal Code, Art. 13 Lawyers Act), permitted and excluded data
  • Assessment of sensitive matters, review requirements, access and deletion procedures
  • Provider contracts and processing in the US, assessed and documented
  • Responsibilities, decisions and accepted residual risks
  • Templates for engagement terms and the privacy notice
03Productivity

1–2 AI-assisted workflows

Set up in your new environment, with drafts in your style: calibrated on your templates, your terminology and anonymised cases.

  • Multi-step: read documents, prepare a draft, assemble the result with supporting documents for review
  • Training for the users
  • Baseline measurement and comparison during practical testing
Technical implementation in detail

The AI gets its own identity in your Microsoft 365: an account used only by Claude. Claude Team connects to this account through the Microsoft 365 connector, not to your staff’s accounts.

What the AI may see and do is set in several places: in the Claude Team connector settings, in the permissions of the Microsoft applications for Claude (M365 MCP Server and M365 MCP Client for Claude) in the Microsoft Entra admin center, and in this account’s access rights on SharePoint. Only the agreed document libraries are shared; write access to email and calendar stays switched off.

We then test that permitted access works and blocked access is really blocked, and record the result in the dossier. These restrictions apply to the connected Microsoft data. What users may additionally type in or upload by hand is governed by the internal rules: the technology limits what the connection can reach, the rules define what may be disclosed. Because the permissions sit on a dedicated account, they can later be extended in a targeted way, for example for further workflows or a separation by matter.

Anthropic processes the data in the US. The commercial terms exclude training models on your content; a data processing agreement is part of the terms. How your firm assesses the remaining risks, such as possible access by foreign authorities, is documented in the dossier and decided by you.

In everyday practice

Where the AI supports your work

We set up one or two workflows that come up regularly in your firm. Typical examples:

Deadline extension requests

A draft based on the order and your template, with the deadline, reasons and a list of exhibits.

Client correspondence

Replies and interim reports in your tone, based on the approved files.

Summaries with exhibits

Submissions, orders or contracts summarised, with references to the relevant passages.

Invoice emails

Cover letters for invoices and cost estimates, consistent and easy to follow.

How a multi-step workflow runs

  1. Documents

The AI reads the approved documents

Only from the libraries its account can access.

  2. Draft

It prepares the draft in your style

Following your templates, your structure and your terminology.

  3. Package

It assembles the result for review

Draft, summary and supporting documents together, instead of gathered one by one.

  4. Approval

    You review, edit and approve

Professional responsibility and sending stay with you.

AI-assisted work, not autonomous automation: the AI prepares, the responsible lawyer decides.

The value

Even small time savings can pay off

The example needs no exceptional assumptions: a lawyer spends four hours a week on a recurring task. With AI assistance, it takes 20% less time. That is around 0.8 hours a week, or around 40 hours a year. At an hourly rate of CHF 380, this corresponds to capacity of around CHF 15,000 a year, compared with a one-off investment of CHF 7,800.

Calculate with your own figures

Hours freed per year
40
Capacity per year
CHF 15,200
The investment equals
6 months of this capacity

A scenario, not a promise. Time saved does not automatically become revenue: it depends on whether you use the capacity for other client work, how you bill, which saving actually materialises and how much time reviewing the results takes. We make no blanket promises: we measure the baseline and compare it with the new workflows during practical testing.

What cannot be measured in hours

Documented responsibility

You can show how your firm uses AI when a client, an insurer or the supervisory authority asks.

Consistent quality

Drafts follow your templates and terminology, whoever starts them.

Controlled access

Confidential documents are accessible only where you have decided.

Less dependence on individuals

One rule for everyone instead of personal AI habits, also when new staff join.

Process

Ready for use in about three weeks

Who it is for

For small firms with high confidentiality requirements

Designed for firms with typically 2–3 lawyers and 1–3 assistants. The package can also suit sole practitioners.

Situation A

AI is already in use

You want clear controls, responsibilities and documentation you can stand behind.

Situation B

You want to start with AI

You want to introduce concrete applications without putting professional secrecy at risk.

Situation C

An AI environment exists

You want to build workflows, or to know whether your environment supports the applications you plan.

Not every firm needs the full package. Firms that already have suitable rules and access controls are often better served by implementing specific workflows. The introductory call clarifies what makes sense.

Frequently asked questions

May Swiss lawyers use Claude with client data?

There is no blanket answer. It depends on professional secrecy (Art. 321 Swiss Criminal Code, Art. 13 Lawyers Act), data protection, the contracts with the provider, where the data is processed and the nature of the information. According to a widely held view, cloud providers are auxiliary persons whose confidentiality must be secured by contract. The package creates the basis on which your firm can assess this question for its matters and decide in a documented way.

Is Claude Team automatically compliant with data protection law?

No, no tool is by itself. Claude Team comes with commercial terms: no training of models on your content, and a data processing agreement. Which data is processed, who can access what, and how results are reviewed and staff instructed remains the firm’s responsibility. That is exactly what the package regulates and documents.

Is client data processed in the US?

Yes. Anthropic processes the data in the US; processing exclusively in Switzerland or Europe is not part of the package. We assess and document this processing, including possible access by foreign authorities. Whether and for which matters this is acceptable is decided by your firm; particularly sensitive matters or data categories can be excluded.

How do we prevent the AI from accessing other matters?

The AI works through its own Microsoft account, which sees only the approved document libraries. The permissions are set and tested in Claude Team, Microsoft Entra and SharePoint; where needed, we separate by matter. These limits apply to the connected Microsoft data. What someone types in or uploads by hand is governed by the internal rules; that is why technology and rules belong together.

Do we have to inform our clients about the use of AI?

Whether information or consent is required depends on the legal and contractual circumstances; the Swiss Bar Association recommends obtaining client consent for cloud services. The dossier contains templates for engagement terms and the privacy notice, as well as an assessment of sensitive matters. You assess which solution is right for your matters.

Do we have to restructure our Microsoft 365 environment?

Usually not. The package builds on your existing environment and requires administrator access. If an environment is set up unusually or needs larger adjustments, we clarify this in advance; restructuring is not part of the fixed price.

Which tasks can we support with AI?

Typical examples are deadline extension requests, client correspondence, summaries of submissions and contracts with exhibits, and cover letters for fee invoices. The AI reads, drafts and assembles; it sends nothing and decides nothing. This is AI-assisted work, not autonomous automation.

How much time do we actually save?

That differs from firm to firm and depends on the task, the templates and the review effort. That is why we record the current effort of the chosen workflows before implementation and compare it during practical testing. A further measurement after a few weeks of everyday use can be agreed separately.

Why does the setup cost CHF 7,800?

You do not receive a configured subscription, but a ready-to-use capability: a controlled environment with tested permissions, a compliance dossier for approval, one or two workflows in your style, trained users and a first comparison of the effort. The price is fixed; the Claude Team and Microsoft 365 licences are added separately.

What happens after the three weeks?

You continue working with the environment, the rules and the workflows handed over. Responsibility for operation and compliance with the rules then lies with the firm. Further workflows, additional training or an extension of the environment are possible and agreed separately.
